Biological control of Pythium pathogens
PythiumX
Pythium root rot has disrupted both large-scale vertical farming and hydroponic greenhouse operations across the country. Contributing to the closure of numerous multi-million dollar facilities, and directly impacting the workforce in multiple locations throughout the United States.
How It Works
PythiumX is a specific strain of Pseudomonas fluorescens that is a host-specific pathogen of oomycetes that include Phytophthora sojae, and several species of Pythium and Saprolegnia. This microbe colonizes and kills oomycete hyphae by delivery of oomycete-specific effectors. It has no ability to infect and cause disease in plants or humans.

Despite existing tools on the market, no product has proven to be consistently effective. That is, until now with PythiumX which aims to:
Target
Circulates through hydroponic systems to actively target and kill Pythium.
Protect
Reduces the need for nutrient purging, and point source sterilization to prevent crop loss.
Improve
Supports higher yields, system sustainability, and more reliable production.
